Does agitate during wash

Centennial does not agitate during wash cycle

Update (03/02/25)

MVWX200XW1

During the wash cycle, it may agitate (turn CW and then CCW) or it may simply rotate. Either way, I can hear a sound that would indicate an alternating CW/CCW. When it performs in that all-one-direction-rotation, it’ll spill some water onto the floor. It’s 13 years old.

Hi @chris56600

Check if the agitator dogs are OK and not broken etc.

Here's a video that may help.

If the dogs are faulty, search online for Whirlpool 80040 to find suppliers that suit you best.

If you need the agitator cam kit which includes the dogs, search for 285811

Here's the tech sheet for the washer that may also help if it is not the agitator cam or dogs.

Run the service diagnostic test mode as shown on p.2 and check if any error codes are being displayed. There's a Fault/Error Code Display Method table on p.3 to shows how to interpret the status lights to determine the codes. The codes, their meaning and possible causes are shown on p.6-p.7
