Repair guides and disassembly information for the MacBook Pro 16'' released in November of 2019. Model A2141, EMC 3347.

Why is my mac refusing to charge

I've let the Mac charge for a night and still no sign of life, it feels like the battery is fully drained and whenever i charge it i dont feel any warmth from the battery or the power brick. I've tried using diffirent chargers but it's the same result.

Somebody suggested to disconnect the battery and let the Mac power on using the only the charger but still it wont turn on.
What could be the cause of this?

(There are a few screws and other stuff that are missing although i dont know if theyre actually the cause of this)

Sadly’ this is a common issue in this series. There are two chips which tend to fail on the logic board. Here’s a vid of the repair Common cause of no power on newer Macbooks with fix. I suspect there was a bad run, as they just don’t hold up.

@khalidaweys - As described in the video lSL GAY driver chip. I’ve done a good dozen as it’s that common an issue. If you go to Apple they will replace the logic board and charge you much more than just replacing these chips.

A good Mac repair shop that does micro soldering will have the chips in stock.

@danj But does those two chips cause the whole mac's other componets to be under 5 - 20 V. i tried it myself with a multimeter and i couldnt find a single component thats acting the way it should.

@khalidaweys - If shorted they can effect the power rails. Did you review the YouTube vid I linked to?
