Fill valve opens and fills the bottem with no cycle selected

I replaced my fill valve recently and the second I turned the power back on and closed the door on the dish washer the fill valve started putting water into the bottom of the dishwasher till the float stops it. My question is why’s it filling when I haven’t hit the start button yet or even selected a cycle just does it on its own. Then when you hit start it runs but water comes out of the bottom seal assuming cause it’s over full?

Hi @chancemastel

I can't find the service data sheet (Frigidaire p/n A13707601) for your model (look behind the kick plate perhaps) to confirm, but try the following to see if you can reset the machine.

Not sure if you tried this or not but try a power cycle to see if it resets the control board. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher (either unplug it from the wall outlet or remove the appropriate fuse/trip the breaker, in the house power box), wait 5 minutes then reconnect the power and check

With the power connected and the door closed, press and hold the Start/Cancel button for 3-4 seconds and release. Hopefully the machine will start to drain and then once it has drained, the drain pump will stop and the machine will be ready for the next time

I just did it. It did drain but right after it drain the valve opened and it just fills itself back up with water

@chancemastel

Did you check to see if the service data sheet is behind the kick plate at all?

Why was the original water inlet solenoid valve replaced?
