Help me identify this part in my GE Monogram refrigerator

I have a GE Monogram built in counter depth refrigerator ZISS480DMA. In the condenser section, there is a wiring harness with an unknown part and it's just dangling there. It looks like some sort of sensor or something, but I'm not sure what is is and if it should be plugged into something.

I've tried going through the parts manuals and diagrams, but can't figure it out. I mainly want to know if it's supposed to be dangling or should be mounted or plugged somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @jayeff

Thanks for the help and good sleuthing! A test jack makes perfect sense and now I can stop worrying that something isn't connected that should be connected. I'll zip tie it out of the way like you suggested.

Also, thanks for posting the manual links. I hadn't found those and they'll be useful as I try to hang on this fridge and keep it healthy as long as I can.

Hi @brianerick76190

Looking at the schematic in both the mini manual and the technical service guide for the model (see p.51) it is a test jack, that appears to be associated with the ice maker and the ice maker water inlet valve. The wire colours shown in the schematic and in the image you posted are the same anyway.

There's no other mention of it in either the mini manual, the service manual or in the GE Electronic Icemaker Technical Service Manual for the model as to how it is used.

Probably best to tie it up out of the way so that it doesn't interfere with anything.

Note: I edited the device you selected to another model number to help others who may have it instead of your model as they both share the same mini manual, service manual and most of the parts etc. Also that model is listed by ifixit and not yours ;-)

Hi @brianerick76190,

If you haven't already found it, here's the parts list that is useful.

If a part does need replacing at some time, locate the wanted part in the list and note the manufacturer's part number that is shown with it. Then search online for the part number only, to find other suppliers who may suit you better.

Thanks @jayeff for your excellent sleuthing. It makes sense that it's a diagnostic port. I've zipped tied it up to keep it out of the way. Thanks also for the manual and service guide links. They'll come in handy, and the parts list too. I have been using a similar parts list at https://www.coastparts.com/lookup/194003....
