The March 2015 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Pro Retina Display, model A1502, features fifth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and introduces the Force Touch trackpad.

Keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive.

Tried :

trackpad

trackpad cable

resetting SMC

resetting PRAM.

Is it possible to be a logic board issue?

Theres no visible damage on the logic board.

By "Tried :" you mean you have replaced the parts or something else? Can you be more specific?

Are you able to get an external USB keyboard and mouse to work? If you can see if running diagnostics offers an error. Using the keyboard restart and press and hold the D key to enter into the onboard diagnostics. Let us know the error.

@danj - Only error was one telling me to test the charger, Nothing regarding the keyboard.

I wonder if it's firmware related.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@beanman56 - Settings maybe, firmware not likely. Most likely the keyboard or its cable.

Lets dig deeper… open About This Mac and click on System Report. Now slide down to USB under hardware, click on it which will open the two viewer windows. Click on Hub which will list out the devices in the lower window is the Keyboard & Trackpad listed? Likewise the external USB ports will show the external keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Can you see them?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@danj - It doesn't show up, The external keyboard and mouse do.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@beanman56 - OK, that’s aiming is back to the hardware. Let’s do this after powering the system down, carefully disconnect the keyboard cable referencing Steps 27 & 28 in this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Logic Board Replacement. Now reconnect the battery and turn the system on, look at the Hub settings again any luck? The trackpad should still now be visible

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@danj - So... Nothing appeared. I'm assuming it's the keyboard cable.

But is there anything else I can try before I buy a new top case?
