2015 Buick Verano not starting

My mom’s 2015 Buick verano has been giving me issues with diagnosing why the vehicle won’t start. I replaced the battery and starter/solenoid thinking those could be the issue. Still nothing. Vehicles lights turn on and warnings saying “service stabilitrac”, “fuel level low”(I checked), “service traction control”.

There’s no sound other than a single click from what sounds like the starter when you push the start button.

Starter has power and the fuses aren’t blown.

Only code being thrown is U0100 “Lost communication with ECM/PCM A

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!!!

Hi @andrewloom48477

Check if there's voltage on the yellow (single wire) connected to the starter motor when trying to start the engine.

The voltage on this lead comes from 30A fuse #16 in the left hand engine bay fuse block via the start relay operated and is used to operate the solenoid in the starter motor.

Once the solenoid operates, the voltage from the battery (via 250A fuse #6 - top of battery) is connected to the starter motor (2 x red/yellow wires) and the starter motor should turn. The engine may not fire but it should crank.
