Also, how do I change headlight bulbs on a 2024 outlander sport?

@brentharden I am making the assumption that these questions are all about a 2024 outlander sport? Why do you think it is the headlight bulb that is not working? It's a relatively new vehicle and the MTBF for the bulb should be way higher than 1 or 2 years.

It's obvious that the high beam is on on drivers side it shines through the inner most slot of assembly just like when I trigger the high beams the passenger size does. It doesn't dim or brighten because the high beam is always on just on drivers side

@brentharden

The owner manual isn't specific, but check in either the passenger compartment or engine bay fuse block for a relay marked headlamp high beam (hopefully there's one for left and right side) and if so remove the driver side (you didn't specify whether it is LHD or RHD vehicle) headlamp relay and check if the driver side high beam turns on when the headlights are operated on low beam only. If not it may be a faulty relay.

If there are no relays designated for the headlamps, pull out the appropriate headlamp high beam fuse and check if the high beam still turns on when the headlamp low beams are selected. If so it may be a wiring problem.

The fuse/relay allocation list should on the lid of the fuse box.

Just what I'd try.

Thanks, that's a pretty solid approach.

@brentharden the lights amongst many other things are actually defaulted/controlled by the body control module software. See if you can get somebody with a specific OBD scanner that can check your headlight high beam value. Compare that to the value it shows for the side that works properly. If there is a difference, you know it is a software issue

That's the kind of stuff I was afraid of. Technology is great when it works but that's about all I can say about it
