The owner manual isn't specific, but check in either the passenger compartment or engine bay fuse block for a relay marked headlamp high beam (hopefully there's one for left and right side and if so remove the driver side (you didn't specify whether it is LHD or RHD vehicle) headlamp relay and check if the driver side high beam turns on when the headlights are operated on low beam only. If not it may be a faulty relay.

If there are no relays designated for the headlamps, pull out the appropriate headlamp high beam fuse and check if the high beam still turns on when the headlamp low beams are selected. If so it may be a wiring problem.
