Why is my front load samsung continually draining?

We just replaced drain pump. Wasnt draining. Now it's continuously draining as quick as water goes in. Have we put it back on wrong maybe?

Hi @tammydevon

What is the model number of the washing machine?

Hi @tammydevon

Can't find a service manual to verify but check if the hose connecting the water level pressure sensor to the tub is secure at both ends. It may have become dislodged when you replaced the pump.

The pressure switch is used to detect the amount of water entering the washer and when it has to stop filling and pumping etc i.e. enough water has filled and all the water is gone when draining.

@jayeff Thankyou.

We have done most suggested things 4 this issue so our next step was 2 go back take pump off and start again and double check each step. I was thinking it surely can't b much. Wasn't draining, now it is and won't stop, lol.

It was a 50c piece that started the issue, blocking pipe.

Can a reset or callibration help if all else fails after this check?

I couldn't find service manual either. Searched for an hr online.@jayeff

@tammydevon

Don't know if a reset or calibrate would work as suspect that even if calibrated incorrectly the water shouldn't pump out immediately that it entered, unless it indicated that there's too much regardless. That's why I suggested the water level pressure switch. Also check the switch's electrical connection to the control board (unless it is already mounted on it and not a separate switch) and if it is OK then check if the hose is connected to it OK

Hi @jayeff

Apologies 4 late reply.

We only got a chance an hr ago 2 have another look.

All seems 2 b in working order. We r no pros at this, lol.

Water still continually drains.

I might just chase up another 2nd hand 1. My washing is piling up, lol.

@tammydevon

Is the pump operating to drain the water or is it just draining by itself i.e. pump not operating?
