Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the first generation Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, successor to the DualShock series. Identified by model number CFI-ZCT1W and motherboard model BDM-010.

Player indicator (white) light disappeared after disassembly

All other lights around the touchscreen work properly. Can anyone tell me please how to fix this? Does this mean a cable is damaged or maybe it's not connected properly? I'd like to know where to look.

P.S. I didn't do full disassembly. Just enough to fix a stick drift. I also made sure to re-connect all ribbon cables.

Hi!

You mean the white LED, just between the microphone (holes) and the touchpad, right?

If yes, this white LED is located on the motherboard it self and is not connected by any ribbon cable.

Please check the LED on the motherboard. Perhaps it fell off while soldering, or is damaged while soldering. If this is the case, then you need to solder the LED back in, or when damaged, it need to be replaced for a new one.

For reference, you can see in the last step (step 24) the small white LED bar (just close to the golden contacts) on the motherboard: Sony DualSense Controller Speaker Replacement

If you are not sure, please feel free to share some pictures with us! Thanks!

Hello!

Thanks for such fast reply.

Yes, it's about the white LED.

Unfortunately, I do not have the tool to do soldering nor the skills.

Is it even possible that this white LED just died? Not my fault at all? I did a lot of search on Google about it but this issue seems very rare; so much so that I've seen it here just once but with no definitive fix.

To conclude, this is just an inconvenience I have to live with. The worst part is that all lights on the controller are turned off when playing lol. I have to accept that until I get a replacement.

Hi!

I saw some of them getting to burn “weaker”. So yes, it’s possible that it just died. Replacing the LED should fix it! But it’s hard to do. The other LED’s are from the touchpad as far as I know, so you should be good :)! You can always bring it to a local shop to let them do the repair. Anyway, it’s not an important LED. So ignoring it should be fine! If you have any questions, just let us know :D! Take care!!
