Wi-Fi only variant of the fifth generation of iPad, released in March 2017. Available with 32 and 128 GB storage options featuring a 9.7" Retina display and 64-bit A9 processor.

Number 2 on each screen that is permanent

I replaced the digitizer on a 5th gen iPad with a new one from ifixit, but now there seems to be a number 2 on the screen that is up near the top right near the battery indicator. it is sideways and very small, and is on each screen in the same spot, even when watching videos.

Amazing, I couldn't even tell that there was a plastic film on the digitizer. Thank you so much, that was it.

Hi,

When replacing an LCD or Touch glass both come with this protection and it’s easy to miss removing one.

The touch glass has one either side and the LCD one is sometimes cut so close to the edge that it looks like it’s part of the LCD and not there.

These protective films can have small manufacturers stickers or markings on them that are not always easy to see.

I’m guessing that your problem is one of the plastic films haven’t been removed.

Hope this helps
