Background and Identification
The iPad 5th Gen 2017 is the successor to the iPad Air lineup, but shares more design features with the Air 1 than the Air 2, most notably, the inclusion of a non-fused display, an identical size and weight, and a 32.4 Wh battery. This unit is slightly deeper than the Air 2, measuring in at 7.5mm, up from 6.1mm on the iPad Air 2, and 32 g heavier. The 2017 model does inherit the Air 2's 8MP iSight camera and three finish options: Silver, Gold, and Space Gray.
