F5E2 error code immediately turns off
Mine also does this but when it throws up the error code, it immediately turns off and I have to turn it back on. Maytag top load model MVWB765FW3.

Hi,
I found this information at “parts select”
https://www.partselect.com/blog/maytag-w...
It will give you an excellent description of the error codes and what to do.
Hope this helps

An F5 E2 indicates a problem with the lid lock in the machine.
Here's the tech sheet for the washer that may help.
Go to p.20 Test #8: Lid Lock and check if that helps to find out what's wrong.
If the lid lock assembly is faulty and needs to be replaced, search online for W10810403 to find suppliers that suit you best.
Here's a video that shows how to replace it.

This tech sheet was a life saver. I haven't taken my machine back apart yet but when I changed the lock mechanism and I took the control panel off, I guess I bumped it but a clear tube/hose was just hanging out. I thought it was some sort of vent to keep everything cool. There's a place it fit perfectly too, but now I have to take my control panel off and put the pressure tube back in it's place not where it looks like it would go. I'm no maintenance person but it is very interesting. Thanks for the information. I greatly appreciate it.

Yes same model I believe. I didn't replace the pressure tube so now it fills and drains. Error code LO. It's going to be easier this time around im hoping. Thank you for the info. I appreciate it very much.
