Hi! Does anybody know of a trustworthy Mac parts reseller in Canada? Trying to save on import duty and taxes.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Update (07/25/24)

@pab525 - Sorry for the delay, got quite sick the other day, still not 100% yet.

Here's the proper reference on your systems onboard diagnostics

Diagnostic LEDs And Test Pads For IMac (Retina 5K, 27 Inch, 2019)

and here's an example of the LED's and the ID labels

Yes but there’s no genuine iMac parts

@pab525 - What are you looking for? Apple never sold parts directly for any of the Intel systems, you had to visit an authorized service provider as part of the repair.

It took some doing! A sizable group of folks compelled Apple to sell parts directly and offer repair manuals starting with the M1 series systems. Other that used parts that’s all you’ll find for your system.

@danj - I know apple doesn’t want me to repair it on my own, but since it was their update that killed my Mac and they don’t want to honor the legal warranty, I am determined to fix it myself. That being said, I need to find a PSU to test if that fixes my problem.

@pab525 - Sorry, was on the road with limited internet access. I’ll post what I have to decipher your LED’s in your Q on that this afternoon.

Sorry to say replacing the PSU won’t help you here. The logic board power services: Buck Converters or CPU VRMs is more likely as you are getting power to the board.

@danj - Alright thank you for your answer. Are these components repairable without replacing the logic board?

Also, I read that the first LED off means no trickle power, which is needed to reset the SMC. When I took voltage measurements on the PSU, there doesn’t seem to be anything less than 12V coming out of it. It’s either 12V or 0V. Therefore I was thinking maybe replacing the PSU and resetting the SMC might help?
