How to fix headphones with split-jack 3.5

Soo my jack in my headphones stopped working, so I cut the insulation off and looked at the wires. My headphones have 1 cabel, that splits into 2 (mic and sound jack) and then you can add a reduction so it connects once again into one.

I am sure the problem is in the 2-jack section, because before it stopped working it sometimes got really quiet so I could barely hear anything, and I could fix that by rotating the sound jack so it can get better connection.

Problem with headphone pin, some time internal connection or wire separated, please check with other headphone

Please reconnect according to colour using soldering, do u want connect to splitting type jack pin

Do u have multimeter or any kind of continuity tester

@jankocvara is the third picture the original headphone jack? I that the one you want to connect? First you have to identify which wires the for the Left and the Right speaker and then the one for a mic. After that you connect it standard for a TRRS connector.

Tip is commonly Left speaker

Ring is Right speaker

Ring is ground

Sleeve is Mic in

To test your headphone jack for the corresponding wires, Use a multimeter and set it to ohm mode. If it has continuity mode, set it to that. Strip the insulation about a 1/4 of an inch (6mm) of each wire. Place one probe on the tip of the connector. With the other probe check each one of the wires. The one that shows continuity will be the Left speaker. Now do the rest of the wires as well. Just move the probe on the jack to the 1st Ring, test the wires....and so on. Write those colors down so you know which wire belongs where.
