I misplaced the battery on the MacBook when doing a replacement, placing it too far down which caused the cable connected to the trackpad to bend and making it impossible to put the back cover on. I know that I can use adhesive remover to take it off and realign it but I’m not sure if I have to do that or if there is an easier way to move the battery.

Ouch! Sorry not to many ways to do this. I find a braided fishing line can be pulled under the battery with a bit of thinner works, that’s how I do it. Using picks or playing cards also work but they also need the thinner treatment as well.
Now the real issue is there enough adhesion with the repositioned battery to hold it down?

I’m not really sure although be able to buy some more online if there isn’t. The major problem I have is moving the battery in the wrong way and breaking it though I’m not sure how fragile it is.
@chrismili - Pulling the fishing line under the cells is the least trauma to the battery. Wedging tends to stress the cells as you don’t want to bend then as that distorts the layers.
If the glue is not working afterwards I would clean it all off and use 3M Command strips (XL) 2 per cell evenly placed.
@danj Ok I just wanna confirm so I should use thinner rather than adhesive remover or does it not matter.
@chrismili - The remover is the same stuff. A liquid that breaks the chemical bond of the adhesive.
Like how Milk and Cream are the same just different amounts of butter fat. Here it’s how thinned down the liquid is.
