Why won’t my controllers connect?

I just bought a new N64 controller but it still displays, “controller not connected”. Could the controller ports on the console itself be broken?

Hi Kenny!

Yes, it could be the port it self which is broken... Do the other ports work? Did you tested multiple controllers?

Otherwise it could be a component on the motherboard it self. You probably need to check the capacitors on the motherboard.

I had once that the actual port it self needed an replacement to get it back to work.
