Background

The Nintendo 64 gaming console was released in September 1996 in the US. Named for its 64-bit CPU, the Nintendo 64, also known as the N64, was Nintendo's last dedicated home console to use cartridges (Unless one counts the GameCube, which could play GBA games via the Game Boy Player). The console managed to sell approximately 32.93 million units and was discontinued in 2001 with the launch of the GameCube.

Identification

The N64 has rounded corners, 4 controller ports and a top-loading cartridge slot.

The standard black and gray colored Nintendo 64, the Funtastic Series, and the Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition have the model number NUS-001 which you can find on the bottom of the console.
