In June 2017 Apple updated its 13" MacBook Air with a newer Broadwell Intel Core i5 processor, resulting in slightly increased performance and battery life.

Trackpad not working after changing the battery

Hello,

after replacing the battery on my Macbook air 13, i noticed that the trackpad has stopped working, i wasn't careful enough during the replacemnt and i think i damaged some sort of chip

on the trackpad (the one in blue square), now i've already bought another trackpad with the cables, i was wondering if there is a remote possibilty that this is a software issue. Thank you.

BTW the keyboard works fine.

How it’s it not working? The tracking of your finger across it fails to show in the movement of the pointer on the screen? Or is it the click action when you press?

Yes, nothing works, i can click it, i can finger across the surface, but the pointer won't even show up, i can only use the laptop with an external mouse, but the keyboard as i said works as intended.

@antoniovit99153 - I would replace the cable and make sure the ZIF connector latch is correctly set (currently in the unlatched state as the cable is not present) once the cable is threaded into the slot fold it back down.

the pic presented is a stock pic from i fix it, i wasn't able to took a pic before closing the lid, the latch, the cable all seemed not affected, only that chip was a little bit damaged on top

@antoniovit99153 - Let’s get a picture of your trackpad where the damage is.
