Cracked Bezel in Upper Left Corner

Hi,

Yes, I just noticed that my bezel / chin bar is cracked in the left corner and also 1/3rd of the way along from the left.

From what I have seen on earlier models, the bezel is separate to the display so (hopefully) does not mean that the screen will crack in future. Is that correct?

BTW: i close mine once a week or less.

Sadly the space between the display and the upper case/keyboard is quite tight and something laying on it pressed into the chin plate cracking it or the hinge edge got a bang. It's replicable!

Just be careful as the ribbon cables under it can be damaged by poking and a glass shard curating into it.

Yes, I am pretty sure you can seperate them. However, as they are glued on very firmly, you will need to pry it off after heating it with a heatgun. It is a very risky operation but it can be done.

Be careful not to crack the display.

Let me know if this helps.
