Modify Top Case to act as Keyboard/Trackpad?

Is it possible to modify a MacBook so that is works simply as a keyboard/trackpad for another Mac (connected either via USB or Bluetooth)? I'm trying to find out if what you explained here Modify Top Case to act as Keyboard/Trackpad?

also applies somehow for the latest MacBook Pro 13 inch.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

It's the perfectly good Trackpad I'd like to keep using.

Do you know that a standard USB external keyboard and mouse will do this job? Trying to use another Macs keyboard is really going about it the hard way. You can also use one Mac to access the hard drive of another by using "Target Mode", connect the two via a firewire cable start the first one up normally and the second one up holding down the "T" key. The hard drive icon from the second machine will show up on the first machine.

Did you check out the iKeyboard app on the Apps store?

Are you trying to control the other mac remotely? If so you can use 'Apple Remote Desktop' app.

If you have a broken Mac I would just use an external keyboard and mouse as Mayer recommended.

All good workarounds, but for a problem I do not have. I want to use the trackpad out of the chassis as a trackpad on my other computer. it's obviously a USB device with a 22 pin connector, but I have no idea which 4 of those are the usb lines.

Anyone have any ideas how to find out which lines are the USB lines?

Andreas - Not sure, but I don't think the internal track pad is a USB device. It seems your going to great lengths here to save 60 bucks for a used Apple trackpad (ebay).
