Released in North America in November 2006, the Wii was Nintendo's first home console to directly support Internet connectivity, supporting both online games and digital distribution of games and media applications through the Wii Shop Channel.

Wii disc laser not functioning

I have a white first-gen Wii that will no longer read discs. Said Wii was used at least once weekly for a long time before it stopped reading discs. The disk drive still spins up fine and the rollers still work well. I took the Wii apart, cleaned the laser with isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip, tested Wii again, and still will not read discs. I have tried several known good discs on Wii after cleaning laser. I was wondering/hoping if there is anything else I can try before replacing the disc drive?

As a matter of fact, there is! For this sort of problem, replacing the laser lens itself sounds like a viable solution. IFixit has the part and a guide for this:
