Is Apple Watch still water proof if diagnostics port cover is missing?

I work for a retailer that refurbs used apple hardware and recently we bought a bunch of Apple Watches (SEs, S3s, S4s, & S5s) that are all missing the diagnostics port cover.

I know these covers are only held on with a tiny amount of adhesive, but if it's missing does that compromise the water proofing of the watch? Obviously we'd prefer not to have to replace the covers but if it's a cause for concern we'll have to try.

Sorry it’s not as water will seep in though the opening.
