OEM SSD for my 2017 mac

I have a 128GB SSD in my 2017 MacBook Pro, but I want to upgrade to a 1TB SSD. There are many shops selling both Genuine and OEM options on AliExpress. I'm wondering if the OEM/China-made SSDs will work the same as the Genuine ones in terms of speed and performance.

Is it safe to go for the OEM SSD? Because the Genuine ones are a bit expensive for me.

There is no such thing as OEM! Thats snake oil termialogy for other parties products.

The other parties products can run the gamut of junk to quality!

As an example there are only one company which produced a direct fit solution OWC Aura Pro NT

There is an adapter which many people found didn't work to well as fitting an M.2 SSD often failed. So I would steer clear of that route!

That leaves original Apple SSD's either recovered from dead systems or ones that have been gotten from the back door of the Apple contract manufacture! Here's one source BeetsTech 13" 2017 Fn MacBook Pro SSD's
