How to fix Windows search bar to show existing programs/applications?

So far, I have not been able to get any results in the Windows search bar when searching for Notepad nor Word (Microsoft Word). These programs/applications do exist on my operating system (Windows 10), but only when I open an existing document (.txt file for Notepad and .docx file for Word). I do not know what other programs/applications have also been affected, but I am afraid that it will continue in the future.

Has anyone else also experienced this? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

@jeffersonwakner Sounds like you need a reset! This shouldn't erase any data, but I would recommend backing up any important data anyway.

  1. Plug your computer into the charger
  2. Press the Windows key and I key simultaneously
  3. Go to the "Update and Security" section
  4. On the left, select "Recovery"
  5. Under "Reset this PC", select "Get Started"
  6. Select "Keep my files"
  7. Select "Cloud Reset"
  8. Wait patiently while Windows resets your computer.

Let me know if you're having trouble following this guide or if you run into any other problems.
