Possible eye piece repair?

My son's headset unexplainabley developed a problem while sitting on his desk. The left eye display has what looks like a white haze and blurry display. What's the opinion.... Would replacing the eye tube fix this?

@peterhewit28156 it does look like a lens error. The eye tube would be a logical next step. I would definitely give it a try Valve Index Headset Eye Tube Replacement
