My screen is broken

Hi,

My screen is broken and it's black. Is it okay to skip the step where it says disable your Mac's Auto Boot?

Also, Where do I buy the screen?

You should disable Auto Boot, I would use an external display. A cheap HDMI display with a HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter will do.

As far as the display iFix it sells them MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Mid 2018-Mid 2019) Display Assembly and here’s the guide MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar 2019 Screen Replacement

Do be careful, a virgin display won’t have the SameTime camera activated, you really want a used one.

Thanks Dan,

Do you mind guide me on how to use an external display, I'm planing to use an iPad (5th generation, Model MP2JAE/A) as external display, I used the same Wifi and tried to open the macbook pro the screen was black it was connected to the Wifi but I couldn't do the mirroring between the iPad (5th generation, Model MP2JAE/A) and the macbook pro.

Do you mean to use Lightning and USB-C Cable? Between the ipad and the macbook pro?

@asmaa51256 - Sorry, screen sharing via an iPad is not what will work in this case.

You need a regular HDMI or DP display some TV's offer this connection so check what you have. Then depending on its connection get the needed cable and adapter.

unfortunately, I only have this ipad and the macbook pro with broken screen no other devices that can be used as external display.

So, can I use this ipad (5th generation) as external display in this case?

Thanks for your help.

@asmaa51256 - Review this Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac

As you can see, the issue you face is you can’t enable it without a working display (Catch22 problem).

Do you have a friend who has a workable HDMI display that will let you use it?

If that’s not possible I fear you’ll need to seek out an independent Mac repair shop or take the chance of messing up the system.

Know your limits and the risks. A small display on the used market can be gotten for less than $100, think it this way… would having a second display be so bad when you need to read a dialog and need to write what is being offered in the dialog or reading something on a Zoom call which I just did.
