Hi Nix,

I have the qc35 ( i not ii) but I think it's similar enough. The cushions are held in by a ridge inside the headphones. Each cushion has a hard plastic ring ( oval shaped) that snaps into that ridge, all the way around the headphone. You have to push it in so it stays. If the cushions won't stay, I bought replacements on eBay and they worked perfectly well. Bose probably sells them too.

Update (02/02/23)

Some pictures to help see how the cushions fit.

The hard plastic on the cushion slide under the plastic tab on the QC.

It's not so easy, but not so hard either: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA63FWBe...

I've recently replaced the pads of my Bose QC headphone, it was not that bad. I've made a tutorial, check it out if you're interested. https://youtu.be/BJ64970GMg4?si=mwJ10Yw1...
