MacBook won’t turn on after replacing keyboard

Hey so recently my 10 year old MacBook which I love dearly decided to stop turning on with the power button. I looked around online and tried quick fixes but it seemed that the best thing to do was to replace the keyboard, so I decided to do this. I have done repairs on my MacBook before so was very careful and now somewhat what I’m doing. However now the MacBook won’t turn on at all, not even in the way I was using when the power button wasn’t working which was to unplug the battery and plug in the charger. I don’t see how I could have put anything out of joint in the repair as I took my time and put everything back together. I would love to be able to get it back up and running because it was fine before all this! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

@dazjames - Did you try the on board power-on pads?

Carefully use a screwdriver to bridge the contacts. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE WITH IT!

To add to Ben’s great answer if the system starts up the keyboard cable or the power switch is bad that is part of the keyboard unit.

If it fails to start you have a deeper issue, review your repair process.

Also why did you replace the keyboard? Did the system suffer a liquid spill? The logic board could have received a few drips which could cause corrosion.

Hey thanks so much for the replies guys, I just tried shorting the power on pads and nothing has happened. Starting to think I may have made things worse by replacing the keyboard and that it’s something on the motherboard. Any thoughts on what to do if the power pads aren’t solving anything? If not I think il have to start thinking about putting it out of service and investing in a new one :,)
