HR-S7000u replacement head and service manual.

Doe anyone know where I can find a replacement heads or upper video drum for HR-S7000U seems like parts are hard to come by and parts units are over $200 for a possible good part!

Update (12/17/2022)

Ii did the same thing been looking for weeks for the manual found the HR-S7000EU it was a different beast all together here a shot of the drum

Hi @stereo068

Here are the drum sub assembly and the upper drum assembly (supplier example only) for the recorder.

The part numbers are JVC LP20617-008A and LP20030-015A respectively.

Here's the service manual for the recorder. The chassis and mechanical parts list is on p.26-27.

Search online using the part number only to maybe find other suppliers. i didn't look too hard ;-) As you said there's not much out there but maybe you can find either a used S7800U/U(C), HR-S2110T or S6700KR recorder at a reasonable price and use that as a parts donor.

Thank you Jay ! The manual is for S7800 it's completely different than the S7000U I'm working on the Upper Drum is also different the original part has JVCH73V0 and PDM3017 and is 4 heads most places show it as 2 heads .

@stereo068

OK

I was only going by the title on the manual where it says S87000U/U(C) as shown in the link I posted.

This is what shows for a PDM3017 which doesn't sound like a drum part

@stereo068

Do you think that this may be an option to consider?

Depending on shipping of course. Bit of a gamble I know

That's a S7100U completely different the HR-S7000U is a front loading SVHS machine and the parts machines are over $200 at that point its more than it's worth as I was hoping it will work with a simple height adjustment without the test tape and scope!
