Do I Need to Use the Adhesive Strip when Replacing Force Touch Sensor?

I am replacing the Touch Force Sensor on my Apple Watch Series 1. The replacement kit included 2 Adhesive Strips in addition to the Sensor. The repair video suggests the Sensor has adhesive on both sides of the sensor gasket and makes no mention of need to also add/use the adhesive strips. Do I need to use these, and if so, how many - none, one, both? Thank you.

The part has the adhesive on both sides. One aspect is some parts need heat to activate the adhesion.
