2014 Soul 1.6 ghost oil leak

I have a 2014 soul 1.6 with 33000 miles I bought new. Never any problems until over a year ago. I noticed a few motor oil drops on the garage floor. I took it to the place that has been changing my oil for a few years. They said oil leaking from oil pan plug/washer. Changed oil and new plug/washer. A few days later more leaks. Took it back and new plug/washer again. Few days later oil leaks again. Since it was such few small drops I decided to wait til next oil change to worry about it. I kept watch to make sure the oil level did not drop and it did not. Next change I took it to another large auto service center that does all repairs to auto. I told them about the leak. They changed the oil and new plug /washer. More leaks. Just a few drops at a time. I took it back. They said oil pan gasket leaking. New seal. More leaks. Took it to another place. New Plug/washer. Oil leaks. Same thing over several times. Remember every time they replace the oil plug means oil change.

I'm old and can't get under the car. But I did manage to get under far enough to slide paper up on the splash guard. Ran the engine a little while. later went back to check. Few drops of oil on TOP of the paper. Not under the oil pan or filter. A little to the driver side and just a little behind the filter.

I said enough is enough and took it the 60 mile trip to the Kia dealer. Told him everything.

2 1/2 hours later he said there was NO leaks. Not from the oil pan. Not from the filter. He said there was oil on top of the splash guard. When I asked Where the oil came from? He said "Must Be Sloppy Oil Changes"?????????

Not true. Over a year. All the oil changes. New/Plug/Washers AT 3 different places. Not 10 minute oil changes places but Quality auto centers. The PAPER with oil drops on TOP.

I been around under inside outside cars for nearly all my life. I did all my oil changes and work on cars for nearly 50 years. I'm Not real stupid when it comes to cars.

But, Where I live it's only around 5 miles from my home to Food stores, shopping and anything I need. "2014 with only 33000 miles" .

9 times out of 10 the car does not have time to get real hot before its time to cut it off. The temperature gauge may get up to where it needs to be but not for long.

I got to thinking. I drove to the dealer at 65 miles per hour for 30 miles. No leaks.

Then I drove home at 65 miles per hour for 30 miles. I checked. No leaks.

Those two lines are trying to tell me something. But, I don't know what. ???

" I started to think PCV. But It just passed Inspection this week. If the PCV was bad. How would it pass???

Any Ideas??? Please.

I’d look at the oil pressure sensor in the block.

The first thing I would have checked is the oil pan gasket - they can break down over time, especially when you do not put a lot of miles on the car. What you want to do is have the oil pan dropped and check the seal for any damage or evidence of degradation. If you do not see anything immediately visible, I would consider replacing it if the price isn't too unreasonable as a basic first step. But while you are there, have them check for cracks in the pan and lower block where the pan mates with the engine - it isn't likely, but it shouldn't be discounted.

If you do change the pan gasket out and keep having issues, you likely have a leak somewhere else - have someone put UV dye in the oil like this and check back with a UV flashlight like this to see where it is coming from. But based on how you described it it is likely the oil pan gasket or something with the pan.
