Kawai CS9 digital piano Power

I have a Kawai CS9 digital piano which would not power on yesterday.

This was due to a blown internal fuse on the power board. I have replaced this fuse and the piano now plays fine, but unfortunately it will now not turn off!

After pressing the power button to switch the piano off, all I can hear is a loud low buzzing noise and the power light remains on. I have to turn it off at the mains to turn it off.

Any ideas?

Hi @jamesrdixon

There's always a reason why a fuse blows so whatever caused it to happen may have damaged something else as well or it got damaged in the process.

Vague answer I know but without the schematic it would be hard to find out without testing each component individually, unless there's obvious visible component damage on the board.

I couldn't find a free download online but here's a link to the service manual that may help.

Service manuals usually have schematic diagrams and a parts list. If you're lucky it may also have troubleshooting flowcharts as well.

Given the cost of the manual it may save a lot of time by getting it.

Thank you for your reply. I did download the service manual yesterday and as you say I think I am going to have to test each component on the inlet board to identify what has failed.

👍
