Often I seen this issue when the chin plate has been damaged. Basically the cables which sit just under it get damaged. These cables feed the LCD with the needed signals or the display its self received a physical blow so the bonding of the data cables have become dislodged.
Sadly, in either case the repair is the same replacement of the display assembly MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Display Assembly and he's the guide MacBook Pro 15" Touch Bar 2017 Screen Replacement
