Why are there vertical black lines after an LCD repair?

Hello, I have replaced the LCD screen for my Huawei p20 pro. The phone turns on fine but there is a thick black vertical line running down the display screen.

I have checked the connection which is secure and hope I haven't damaged the flex cable as I was super careful! Is there anything else I can do?

Farhan Shahid, if you checked your connector ends (both and those look ok, double check the cable for tears etc. If all that checks out ok, contact the seller and replace the screen. It's possible that you have a bad screen. Happens more often than we hear about.
