Part for insulation tape?

Changing my battery due to the phone overheating and I noticed the insulation tape was torn. I cannot seem to find a replacement part for this anywhere. Can anybody point me in the direction of the part or a workaround to fix it?

Hi

I wouldn't worry too much about this tape as it docent appear to be connecting to anything,heres what I would do!

try your best to straighten it out and get some non-conductive tape such as sellotape or electricians tape to put on top any that should fix your issue the best I can be fixed as I don't know of anywhere that would sell you a custom cut piece of this type of tape.

if you have anymore questions please ask

hopefully this helps

Thanks:-)

This is what I was thinking of doing but had one thing holding me back. That insulation tape seems to be connecting to a heat sink from the battery to keep the board cool. Will electrical tape be able to transfer the heat from the battery to that heat sink?

@Justin O

I don’t think it would matter too much as tape is horrible for transferring heat(that sort of thing wouldn’t make a difference in a cooling system)when its that thin,I think the tape is more just part of the manufacturing process rather than a essential part of the phone so the electrical tap will do just fine:-)

Thanks, going with the electrical tape for this!

@Justin O

That great:-)

I tried using some metal foil tape, thinking it would conduct heat better, but now my GPS isn't working. I think the foil is shielding, reflecting, or otherwise interfering with GPS satellite signals. So don't use metal tape!

To anyone else watching this thread, this isn't regular tape. This is a graphite thermal pad.
