Can I Remove the Stand?

Can the stock stand be removed on the mid-2020 iMac as on the mid-2012 and later iMacs? When I ordered my 2020, I didn’t realize the VESA mount was an option. The stock stand is not ergonomic for me.

Honestly, I’d rather deal with what I have than leave the stock stand on with one of those VIVO mounts. I may change my mind later…

If you just bought it from Apple return it ASAP! And order the VESA mount version if it’s that important.

Sadly you need to fully disassemble the system to get to the screws which holds the foot inside.

Thanks. It’s not what I wanted to hear but at least I know.

So that means, when fully disassembling the iMac, you can in fact change to VESA? Because i can't find another way

@Robert - I’m not sure I follow you here… yes, you can switch the foot to VESA mount, but!! It requires a complete disassembly of the system to get to the mounting and you will also need to get the VESA mount hardware both internal and external.
