Can a water damaged iPhone screen damage my iPhone

Hi guys I have a water damaged iPhone 5s that shows a dim apple logo on startup and get’s stuck. I plan on taking the LCD off this phone and putting it onto another iPhone 5s of mine. Is it possible for the water damaged iPhone LCD screen to damage something on my other iPhone 5s?

Hi @jimmysofat6864,

Personally I would never connect a water damaged component to any electronic device that was working OK unless I could see the extent of the damage and test for any potential problems before doing so.

With an LCD screen you cannot see the internal damage and you would need the schematics to be able to test for any problems.

You really don’t know unless you test for it or you are willing to gamble and then perhaps end up with two problems instead of one, a faulty display and now another possibly faulty systemboard.

As long as the water damaged screen is not severe (visible corrosion and rust) and the connectors are free of debris you should be fine.
