Where does this little piece go and is it crucial that I put it back?

After working on my 20” iMac, having lifted the logic board and reassembled, I found this little piece leftover. Can anyone tell me where it goes and if it’s important that I put it back, as I don’t really want to take the whole thing apart again…

This is an EMI conductive foam to transfer the energy from one surface to another. Its not needed.

Thanks. Any idea where it goes specifically for this logic board?

@jmrlachance - Its not on the logic board, its part of the case mating surfaces. I've posted an image in my answer.
