The monitor worked fine, then suddenly made a pop and now its dead

This is not related to the common periodic flickering and then the screen going dead until you unplug it and plug it back in. That was another Thunderbolt display that I fixed with new cables. This one made a loud POP and then went dead. There was no problem or issue prior. I’ve tried a different power cable, but that still didn’t help.

@chunnel - Time to do a bit of careful inspection of the logic board and power supply for a blown capacitor! You should be able to see a burnt component.
