hello Randy,

there is nothing strange about it - what you broke off in the photo is the switch tape. There is a power on switch and some control signals. More important question - have you not caused a high-energy spark in the system. Connect the working screen and start the tablet by shorting the pins on the connector of the broken tape (or by inserting the lighting cable connected to the computer - this is important). Check if the tablet starts up at all. Then we'll worry about what to do next. Keep your head up - it happens sometimes. The next time leave frustration behind the door of the workshop - this work requires focus and respect for the device. Especially with tablets.

Thank you so much for your response. When I replaced the glass, I believe, that although I put a piece of plastic (guitar pick) between the battery and board that it feel out sometime during the replacement process that it fell out… In fact, I know it fell out… just not exactly sure when. Any ways when I finished before I screwed everything back together I tested it… and almost immediately knew there was a problem.. Although the battery was not dead it was not registering When either connecting or disconnecting the lightning cable.

Now I scowered the internet for any help with this *unique to me* problem and read somewhere that the is dinner type of temperature regulation component inside the iPad and if you put it in the freezer for 45 minutes… it resets?… The battery issues. I thought it was crazy, but, with no other options I gave it a shot…. Crazy enough it actually worked… It was recognizing the power cable and even charging the battery again…. My other issue was that during the removal of the digitizer I broke the rear camera… which I figured would be an easy fix until I saw that cable broken…. it is also when I noticed that my new glass had a new crack in it…. So, I ordered another screen… after I get it connected probably and an able to test your advice, I will do so.

All I ask is that you please check back every couple days because I have now realized even though I've *ALWAYS* replacement my own hardware on my phone… which has always been Androids… this iPad is above my pay grade. And any advice that I can receive is is invaluable… I stepped on my daughter's iPad, which unfortunately after the pandemic I cannot afford a new one…. Again that you so much.
