Not restoring

Hi!

I've got an ipod 3g 20go.

Itunes says i need to use a firewire cable for restoring it.

I've been trying hard many many times, but itunes says that after updating the software, i need to plug it on a wallcharger.

So i did, but nothing finally happened.

I'm blocked.

Do it need to get a firewire 400/800 adapter if i want to restore it fully.

I've recently changed the hardrive and erased it through disk utility in Fat32....

Waiting for answers.

Do you think the only way is via firewire ????

Thanks by advance.

benoitcoeuret, this particular version of the iPod will definitely require a Firewire Adapter. They do not use the USB port to charge and restore. "USB Support: Sync Only Firewire Support: Sync & Charge Details: The iPod 3rd gen models are capable of charging and syncing by Firewire via the dock connector. You will have to finish the restore with a Firewire AC adapter. I purchased one a while back on eBay and it cost me around $8 so not a bad investment. Remember that even if you have a Firewire connection on your computer, you WILL need an AC adapter to finish the restore. Hope this helps, good luck
