New ifixit MacBook Pro Battery seems defective. Service required?
Hi All,
I bought a replacement battery for my 15” MacBook Pro Retina (Early 2013) last month. (Manufacturing date March 11, 2021)
I use iStat to monitor my system processes.
After only 16 cycles, it now says “Service Required” and only 76% Health. The battery only lasts an hour to an hour and a half with normal usage.
I’ve reset the SMC and the NVRAM already multiple times. I fully charged it, fully drained it multiple times.
Could I have gotten a defective battery? The current Capacity is reporting at 6552 mAh.
Thanks

**Edit* Fully charged battery now. Temp is 20 degrees lower, but life is still too short.

The batteries temp seems high! What are you running when you took this and lets try placing the system under charge. Let it sit a good half hour to lower its temp and then take a fresh snap about 15 mins in so we can see how it's doing then.
