Can I use surface book without the screen battery?

i have a surface book 1st get with a Swollen Battery(behind the screen).

does anyone know if after removing the battery from behind the screen, will i be able to use the surface book without a battery installed?

i plan on using it as a desktop only henceforth, though is it possible?

Old question but others may look at it for future reference. Maher Haddad yes it will run without the battery. You just have to keep it plugged in. This of course defeats the purpose of a laptop/tablet.

Unfortunately, you can't, I just tried this and the system basically boot loops... You can use it with just the keyboard battery though (if you keep the tablet battery BMS installed, that is).

If you remove both batteries (keyboard and tablet), same result: boot loop.
