Since you were able to reinstall the OS, I'm guessing the device works normally in Recovery Mode. If that's the case, you might not have a hardware issue. Does the issue occur in Safe Mode? Have you tried running the built in Apple Diagnostic utility? Are you performing a clean OS installation and setting it up as a new computer when you reinstall the OS or are you preserving or restoring your data? If you've only tried the latter, you might want to try a clean OS install to see if the issue persists when set up as a new computer. If you've tried all of these things and nothing helps, then you should consider contacting an Apple repair store. Good luck!

Mine is 4 months old and started doing it. Just traveled 4 hrs round trip to nearest Apple Store to drop off. Hoping to do same trip after fix next week.
