SSD Upgrade, Sata Speed

So as i asked earlier, my hdd is failing, and a thunderbolt enclousure is not an option at all…so well i decided to change the internal hdd for a ssd ( and also change thermal paste to Kyronaut Extreme, and clean the fan) but there is a problem, looking at the specifications (i use bootcamp only because college software is exclusive to windows) of the hdd, its says that is connected to a sata 2 port ( or limited to sata 2 speeds)

Its because of the hdd is limited to Sata 2 speed or because the bandwidth is shared with the Propietary-PcieBlade?

If i install a sata 3 ssd will it use the full speed (600mb/s)? or there is a physical limitation on the speed because of the motherboard or something?

Update

I Installed a SATA Crucial SSD ( a pretty cheap one actually ) and it works perfectly! SATA 3 Speeds!

It appears someone replaced your HDD at some point with an old SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) laptop drive! The original HDD this system had was a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s)

So as long as you put in a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) SSD it will interface with the system at the higher data rate. Make sure you review the given drives spec sheet.

FYI - This explains your current problem as the Fusion drive set was not designed to work with the older SATA II HDD’s as its not fast enough!

i bought the machine brand new from retail and it came with the normal box w/ all the stuff, no cardboard box or anything to say that it was Refurbished, so unless the retail itself repaired, i dont see other way to that to happen

Double check plug in your systems S/N here EveryMac - Lookup

Your systems drive interface options are:

> 1 - SATA III (6.0 Gb/s)

@mgbassdat - Somehow you got a SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) HDD put inside if your report is correct. But does it really matter? You are replacing it to a SSD correct??
