Replacement motor for Panasonic ES-LV95 cleaning station (RC9-15)

So I noticed that my cleaning station no longer cleans the shaver (the water doesn’t seem to be pumped) it only is capable of drying. I opened it up (actually not super difficult, but need to be careful), and eventually I got to the motor of the pump. It appears to be all rusty (no surprise, since the design places it under the water level, and only thing blocking the water are seals).

Anyway, I don’t think Panasonic will provide me with a replacement motor (I still asked and waiting for a response), so I’m wondering if I can find an off the shelf motor that could take it place. I really doubt Panasonic would build a special motor for a cleaning station so it probably also is off the shelf motor, but I know absolutely nothing about DC motors and how to find one matching it.Unfortunately, the motor is wrapped in special plastic case so I can’t see any markings that would help me find that part. I haven’t tried hard enough to remove it from it (because I’m afraid that I might break it). I’m wondering if there’s some kind of catalogue of DC motors with dimensions so I could look and perhaps locate which one I need? I don’t even know where to look for something like that.

I have the same issue. Curious to know how you go about disassembling the thing. Thanks.

Oh the off chance you still own this station, these motors seem to be the correct replacement: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SR7NBNC?ref.... I coated the shaft with an acrylic conformal coating since my old one has rusted, I then added silicone sealant around the gasket to prevent water ingress into the motor. This all seems to work. Maybe this answer will help somebody else keep something out of the landfill.

Any info on how to access and remove the motor? Thanks.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Thanks I eventually ended up purchasing it and replacing it. Unfortunately the motor I got has shaft length of 5mm instead of 10mm. I checked description, and it says 10mm so I think Amazon just sent the wrong motors...

Update: I requested a replacement, let's hope this time it will match the description.

M Chen: not sure which part you're stuck at, to get to the motor you need to remove the rubber floor, and to do it you need remove the back with the fan. If you get past that then you need to remove two screws holding the white plastic holding the motor. Once that is done then you can remove the motor (the fin on the bottom is still holding it, you can either remove it or pull and it will detach from the shaft).

Then getting the motor from the enclosure was the hardest one for me, I managed to do it with two flat screwdrivers, but you can use other items, the thinner they are the easier it is. Perhaps a two metal spudgers would be even better.

@mattweiner11790 geez, so I got Amazon to send another 2 motors, and guess what? Once again their shaft is 5mm (ok maybe it is 6mm, so I need to order it 4 more times to get 10mm?).

So now I have 4 motors that are useless to me.

Any idea if I can order it from another place, what should I search for?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I guess and check purchased a bunch of motors to find one that seemed to work. Maybe take a look on AliExpress or similar marketplace?

Looks like in addition to have shaft that's too short, it also is wrong voltage. The base shuts down whenever it tries to power it up. When trying to run it on the 5.4V power source it spins much faster then the previous motors. I think it might be 3V or lower.

@mattweiner11790 Do you have the exact specs to look for? I guess it needs to be

Shaft: 2 x 10 mm

Flat body: 32 x 15 x 20 mm

6V

Did the one you received have 10mm shaft?

typically in their eyes ( panasonic) the charging \ cleaning station is so cheap theyre not going to offer replacement motors for this kinda thing.

odds are youll have to dig around the google machine and see if anyone else has done this repair on the side and hope they listed the motor. ill search around and update if i find anything

if no luck there then youll have to get measurements of the motor physically and then some how figure out the motor speed and required voltage \ amperage.

FC-11285 0907 5V DC (part ID hardly legible despite I cleaned the motor with care).

Unbranded.

Shaft: 2 x 10 mm

Flat body: 30 x 15 x 22 mm

Torque, and speed and direction of rotation: no idea.

After having issues with finding the right motor I just got another cleaning station on e-bay and that one had working motor, although it was a bit squeaky (I added a bit of WD20 and that helped).

On this one I also could clearly read it's model number it is:

LD-180FC-11285

(I think this likely is a serial number, but just in case): ADJ181103

5VDC
