Display damaged while replacing bezel sticker

Dear all,

I have just damaged the display of my mac book when replacing the front bezel cover following this explanation:

I damaged one of the organge/brown connectors:

This small scratch on that part has led to a huge dead area of the display and some flicker:

I’m devastated because I had successfully replaced the battery a few days ago following the ifixit guide and thought I could finish the job by changing the bezel, which was cracked and aesthetically unpleasing… So I guess I have destroyed the display while trying to carry out an unnecessary fix… Is there a way to replace just that scratched connector or must one really get a whole new display?

I’m so sorry! It kills you when you’ve gotten so far and bam! The very last thing wipes out all your efforts!

Sadly, there is no means to fix the ribbon cable. Your only option is replacing the full display assembly.
