Fans keeps spinning after shutting down

I recently swapped my hard drive for an SSD and my fan is working fine but whenever I shutdown my computer it starts going full blast. I won’t stop until I disconnect the power cord. It's an old iMac a1418. I read the SSD is incompatible with this model's temperature sensor so I put back my old hard drive. The fan still runs when I shut my computer off. What's going on?

@John Pham - You can thank Apple for messing up the systems EFI code!

At this point I think you'll need to visit someone with iMac repair experience as they will need to use other diagnostic tools to figure out whats happening here.
