Mac detecting computer in network?

Recently got a new logic board and wondering what this is. Under network or ‘shared’ there is a HP computer. Is this still connected to some device that was used to check its functioning or does it mean there is a computer near by its trying to connect to? Please explain if you know what this is. Just feels weird being ‘shared’ with unknown computer. Never saw this on my old logic board

Without knowing your network design its hard to tell whats happening here.

Clearly this system is hooked into your network is it someones system in your family (HP system)? If not, then you have an exposed network either a wired Ethernet or WiFi.

Are you using WPA or WPA2 security on your WiFi network? You’ll need to reset the password. Do you have an exposed Ethernet port that someone is plugged into?

So its something on my end, it has nothing to do with the history of the logic board or where it might have been used, it detected something within my area basically correct?

Are you using WiFi ? Someone is likely connected to it. Its also possible your system is trying to connect to this system as its WiFi connection is open and broadcasting out.

No, its nothing within your iMac's logic board.

I am using WiFi, I have an hp printer could that be it ? If someone’s on my network can they access what’s on my computer ?

Does your HP printer offer a WiFi connection? Did you install the HP software on your system to manage the printer? If not I would start there. Alter the printers name so you know it's yours.

As far as accessing your computer its possible! It depends on how good you are in setting up your system. Lets not freakout on that yet focus on the printer.

Changed host name on printer and it changed on the shared network thing, I assume that I'm good and case closed? You are a legend !

What other precautions can I take after installing a used logic board, I already wiped the disk and reinstalled macOS, anything other than that or I'm good to go?
